Background
In the 21st century, Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs) face unique economic challenges that demand collaborative, innovative, and sustainable solutions. Despite their vast natural resources, growing youthful populations, and expanding digital economies, persistent barriers such as economic inequality, infrastructural deficits, climate vulnerability, and governance constraints continue to hinder inclusive growth. The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated these challenges, revealing structural weaknesses in financial systems, trade networks, and labor markets.
The economic potential of EMDEs remains untapped due to limited access to capital, weak industrialization, and inadequate integration into global value chains. Many countries struggle with high levels of unemployment, especially among youth, and an overreliance on extractive industries, which leaves their economies vulnerable to external shocks. Addressing these issues requires a comprehensive approach that fosters economic diversification, strengthens regional cooperation, and promotes sustainable development.
This conference aims to bring together policymakers, academics, researchers, students, industry leaders, and development practitioners to explore actionable strategies for overcoming these economic challenges.
We invite submissions of original research, case studies, and policy papers on the following (but not limited to) session themes:
